Fun Ideas for a Fall Photoshoot

Fun Ideas for a Fall Photoshoot

Hello everyone, how is the cool morning air and crisper nights been treating you? Good, I sure hope! Today's tip is about being creative with yourself and the autumn season. There are many great ways to remember the few months of fall so I've put a list together on photography ideas for Instagram, journaling, scrapbooking, and other ideas you might have for them. Enjoy! :)

Foliage Background Simply find a grouping of trees that have changed colors for the fall and take a selfie using those as the background.
Leaf Props There's plenty of nature's confetti around!
  • Pile O' Leaves
    • Rake up a small pile of leaves that have fallen. Sit in the pile holding some of the leaves for a quick selfie.
  • Leaf Cut Out
    • Cut a shape into a colorful leaf (a large leaf is best) and hold it out in front of you while camera or phone is in the other hand. Take a photograph capturing your face in the little cut out frame you created. If you want an easier method, just a take a leaf or deck of leaves (any size) and put in front of you or closer to your face for just as good a picture!

Pumpkin Props Bring on the big, the bright, the small, the white; pumpkin is fall's mascot!
  • Pumpkin Patch
    • Take a picture in your local patch. All you do is find the field with pumpkins looming around in the background and snap a quick image.
  • Handful of Pumpkin
    • Why not show off the pumpkin you've just picked, purchased, carved, and or decorated?
  • Seated in Style
    • Sometimes at the local patches there are decorated sections or even stacks of prepicked pumpkins. Sitting in front or kneeling next to them makes for an adorable picture! Disclaimer: Please do not directly sit atop the pumpkins or any crops for that matter. You can pose in front of them or hold them on your lap but ruining these isn't such a kind idea.

Display Ornamentation
Look around shop doors for cute decorations with fall accents. Sometimes they can have small detailed signs prompting shoppers in, but these can make for lovely photographs.

Walk of Experience You're wearing your best shoes and you stumble across a lovely pathway of fallen leaves just begging you to strut the runway for some images. Set your phone up leaning against your bag for a short minute (always keeping an eye on it) and set the timer or movement camera option. You can even take a picture looking down toward your feet seeing as your feet are the focal point and walkway is the background. Now you've captured some pictures that shows you've definitely experienced this glorious season!
