My January Playlist

My January Playlist
Hello everyone! Keeping it simple today, I'm sharing my playlist of songs that I've enjoyed listening to this last month. I plan on making playlists for each month to share some music which will mainly be new releases or sometimes even newly unreleased tracks. There will be some months of course dedicated to a certain theme. January 2022, however, features only new music. So, I hope you enjoy and perhaps find a new song to try out. :)

Social Media Do's and Don'ts

Social Media Do's and Don'ts

Social Media is forever changing and growing. Here are some do's and don'ts when going online, just some easy things to keep in mind when scrolling through social media.

_________________________________________________________

Do's

Set a Purpose Set a Purpose for each app you have on your device(s). Think about what you use them for. This can detrimentally help you realize that if you do need certain apps they will help you along your life journey. Likewise, they might be restricting everyday growth mentally and physically throughout your day, so choose which are for the better.

Uplifting and Enlightening Find accounts that uplift and enlighten you on a daily basis. These are ones that make you happy, can put a smile on your face, and or possibly even make you laugh!

Time Limit Set a time limit for using your devices when it comes to social media use. Try to set a good range of a half hour or so, for example, just to stay up to date.

Community You have a hobby or something that interests you in your spare time, right? The right community to be involved in can boost your mood and open any horizons to interact.

Don'ts

Keen and Alert Don't get attached to anything you see online. It can disappear in a second or force you to get stressed because of having to check apps constantly. Taking things personally can take a toll on your being. Stay keen and alert of what's appearing on your screen.

All Caught Up Social media isn't a competition at all. They're mostly used for sharing and connecting with others across the globe. Getting all caught up in reaching a higher amount of likes or followers can impact your creativity if you post on your account. Just share your content and the right people will come along to like and follow as such.

Enough is Enough If you have nothing to do and you're scrolling for a long time, enough is enough! Like buying groceries on an empty stomach, the same applies here. Constantly glancing at your screen hurts your eyes, yes, but it's more what you see when it comes to images; a negative effect takes place in your system. Before you know it, you might be getting riled up on comparing your body to those you see on the apps, for example. Consider using the social apps if you need to catch up on the latest posts, or if you need an idea for something.

Stop Comparing Continuing from the last topic, stop comparing yourself to what you see on social media. It only brings in negative vibes like degrading yourself and your looks or even your ability to complete tasks. You are creative in your own right so no need to go down the route of telling yourself you have no chance. Most of the time, photos of people are heavily photoshopped. Food is even photoshopped and edited to look more savory or sweet. Like hello, you're perfect and talented the way you are!

Fun Ideas for a Fall Photoshoot

Fun Ideas for a Fall Photoshoot

Hello everyone, how is the cool morning air and crisper nights been treating you? Good, I sure hope! Today's tip is about being creative with yourself and the autumn season. There are many great ways to remember the few months of fall so I've put a list together on photography ideas for Instagram, journaling, scrapbooking, and other ideas you might have for them. Enjoy! :)
_________________________________________________________

Foliage Background Simply find a grouping of trees that have changed colors for the fall and take a selfie using those as the background.
Leaf Props There's plenty of nature's confetti around!
  • Pile O' Leaves
    • Rake up a small pile of leaves that have fallen. Sit in the pile holding some of the leaves for a quick selfie.
  • Leaf Cut Out
    • Cut a shape into a colorful leaf (a large leaf is best) and hold it out in front of you while camera or phone is in the other hand. Take a photograph capturing your face in the little cut out frame you created. If you want an easier method, just a take a leaf or deck of leaves (any size) and put in front of you or closer to your face for just as good a picture!

Pumpkin Props Bring on the big, the bright, the small, the white; pumpkin is fall's mascot!
  • Pumpkin Patch
    • Take a picture in your local patch. All you do is find the field with pumpkins looming around in the background and snap a quick image.
  • Handful of Pumpkin
    • Why not show off the pumpkin you've just picked, purchased, carved, and or decorated?
  • Seated in Style
    • Sometimes at the local patches there are decorated sections or even stacks of prepicked pumpkins. Sitting in front or kneeling next to them makes for an adorable picture! Disclaimer: Please do not directly sit atop the pumpkins or any crops for that matter. You can pose in front of them or hold them on your lap but ruining these isn't such a kind idea.

Display Ornamentation
Look around shop doors for cute decorations with fall accents. Sometimes they can have small detailed signs prompting shoppers in, but these can make for lovely photographs.

Walk of Experience You're wearing your best shoes and you stumble across a lovely pathway of fallen leaves just begging you to strut the runway for some images. Set your phone up leaning against your bag for a short minute (always keeping an eye on it) and set the timer or movement camera option. You can even take a picture looking down toward your feet seeing as your feet are the focal point and walkway is the background. Now you've captured some pictures that shows you've definitely experienced this glorious season!

Things to Do When You're Bored

Things To Do When You're Bored

As we know it, fall has swiftly come upon us. That means as the cold weather starts to come in, we will most likely find ourselves indoors rather than spending time outside of our comfortable dwellings. Here's a list of things you can do if you become bored! Enjoy. :)
_________________________________________________________

Read
You've probably got some time on your hands, how about picking up an old book you've tossed somewhere in your room? How about a magazine or newspaper? Whether old or new, something to read can take up plenty of time. And maybe, reading from the pages of an actual book would be much more wholesome than reading from an ebook on your phone or tablet.

Mood Board
Still haven't read those magazines or newspapers from number one? Why not try creating a mood board? Scour the pages for anything from pictures to words and glue them onto poster board or even just printer sized paper. Fill in any spaces with ribbons, cut fabrics, buttons, stickers, etc... Mood boards don't have to be anything fancy, in fact, they can either tell a story or just show a collage of your interests. Anything goes!

Draw, Color, Paint So many choices among the art spectrum here. Try challenging yourself to draw a picture you haven't tried before. Maybe it's time to start practicing a little with self portraits. Find a coloring book or print off a coloring page online. Paint something on paper (doesn't always have to be canvas) and imagine. You don't have to make anything difficult, just ease up and find simple inspiration to coax your creative side.

Writing I'm a huge fan of writing these days and it's most likely for my music. You can do anything from poetry to paragraph writing. If you're eager, try a short story. Any of these can really let emotion and stress escape your presence. Another thought is journaling. It doesn't have to be formatted like a diary, though. There are fun ways to journal for instance, like an art journal. Similar to a mood board but stuffed into a small book. Create a collage with writing, add some pictures, and decorate with any small embellishments as such.

Scrapbooking, Card Making Now all these ideas from above pretty much sum up scrapbooking! You can even try homemade cards to send out to friends, family, and or, loved ones. Really, it's about finding things in your own place, gathering them up, and making something out of them to cherish and remember, or to share with others.

Cleaning Space For another way to decorate, clean up your space. Tidying can be the little nudge you need to free yourself from boredom. Rearranging can even bring some new air into your dwelling, opening your eyes to find new reasons to get up and do something.

Music Music is such an amazing tool for a couple reasons! One, you can listen anytime, and most anywhere. Two, it sparks imagination and mood shifts in your brain. Basically, music can cure the couch sitting blues away! Listen to music while crafting or cleaning, while exercising, and I could go on and on... Really, music changes how you feel, and can get your system going for the day.

Exercise Did I say exercise? Sorry, not sorry! It can be a struggle for me even, more often than ever. Skipping to the point however, Exercise is stress relieving but doesn't mean you should over exert yourself to feel good. Simply stretching your body out can relieve muscles from any heavy weight and or aching. You can take just a brisk walk around the block (don't forget the music of course!) and those brief five minutes can do wonders for your day. Don't like walking? A fast ride on the bike will do. But I will tell you my exercise secret, swinging! Seriously, age doesn't matter on the swing. Your arms are holding on tight while legs are pumping and stretching out, and that's enough exercise to keep me, well, feeling pretty damn good!

Cooking, Baking Time to try those recipes that look so good on Instagram! Yes, this is one for me, too! Cooking and or baking, also everything in between, is a good way to take away the slow ticking of time. Try some food you've never thought to eat before. Experiment with flavor or ingredients next time to you take to the kitchen. Anything goes here, and it's all in your favor since you get to try it out!

Watch a Show, Movie This is a given but it's worth adding to this list. Find your favorite show or movie and watch it. If that's not enough, go for a little hunt for something similar. Open your horizons with genres and see if you can tolerate something in a different category. There's so much a person has not seen and has yet to view or experience for themselves.

Play a Game You can play a game with your phone or on the internet. Try playing Minecraft single player or looking online for a multiplayer server. There's also the Sims in which you can control other people's lives and wreak havoc! Go old school and play cards or a board game. Challenge yourself in these games (and or others not listed) and see how fun it can be knowing you've rid of the boredom.

Talk Talking to someone can ease you up a whole bunch. Communicating is the ultimate tool for comfort and safety. Call up your friend or a family member you haven't spoken to in a while. Hearing someone's voice is much better than texting, but if that's your only option, go for it; then set up a date to hang out.
