A gallery wall is a collage of different articles to cover an entire space. Articles are of different shapes, sizes, and proportions. Think of it as an accent wall. It's a fun and creative way to add personality to most any room!

Collecting Items

• Imagery
• Collect any and all pieces of your favorite art. This can be framed images, unframed pieces, canvas, posters, photographs, printed pictures, and so on...
• Decorations
• Sames goes for decorations! Collect items such as wall decal stickers, flags, string lights, faux string plants, clocks, mirrors and so on. Basically, find things other than imagery that can be hung on the wall.
• Bulletin Board
• Bulletin boards are great because they fill up a pretty decent sized space. They can be useful for unframed photographs, loose papers, and smaller things to be pinned on.
• Shelves
• Shelves make for easy gap fillers. Floating shelves make for a nice option even. This way, for things that can't be hung on the wall, they can be nice to hold other decorative objects.

Decorating

• Placement
• It's all about how you feel when it comes to making your own gallery wall. Think about it for a while; draw out some of your art and how it would display on your wall, take a moment to figure out a good arrangement. For me personally, since I actually have a small gallery wall in my room, I thought about the bigger pieces and the ones I deem as more important in my range of sight. These are what I placed first. Then I filled in gaps with smaller pictures and whatnot.
• Hanging Up
• As soon as you have a plan in mind, you can start hanging art up. The fun part is putting different textures together, colors, and really creating a solid accent wall of memories. The thing I really enjoy about gallery walls are the fact that nothing set in place is perfect. Everything is truly combined with creativity and enjoyment!

Ideas for Decorating with Christmas Lights

We all know about lighting up our trees and putting lights up outside of our living spaces (if we can) but today, I wanted to share some more ideas using these lights. This tip is specifically for the Christmas/holiday season but some can be carried out into every day, too! Really, it's all about being creative and having fun. Enjoy! :)

Garland/Wreath Wrap a string of lights around a garland or even a wreath. Lights add a fun way to display the garland/wreath instead of being boring green. It's a simple fix to amply the festive season! For the garland, an idea is using as a table runner or placed over door frames, arch ways, or of course, outlining picture frames and mirrors.

Picture Frames and More Place lights around picture frames, mirrors, or other hanging decorations. Gives some flare to the masterpieces you've got.

Curtains

Create a rain drop effect with your Christmas lights! Just run them up and down along the inside of your curtains (near the windows). Then when the curtains are closed for the evening, turn them on and the spectacular glow gives off the feeling of being in a snow globe!

Ornaments/Terrariums If you're anything for crafting then this is for you! Take a clear ornament and put in a string of fairy lights! That's it. Well, unless you wish to add any other decorations inside the tiny space with the lights. And of course, you can always add some stickers or design the outside of the bauble with anything that pops into your mind! For terrariums, it's the same thing but without the plants unless you choose to add a faux tree, which is totally fine! Overall, this is an easy diy that can be used as a decoration such as centerpiece on a table or to place on shelves.

 

Selfies Okay but, you can't forget to decorate your Facebook feed or Instagram profile! Gently wrap some lights around your body. Turn them on and snap a pic! Easy but so festive. Go ahead and try this on your pet, but be gentle and be careful not to wrap so tightly. Great pictures, right?

Green is a color that no matter what gradient used, it's always warm and welcoming! The natural shade is quaint and charming, perfect for a bit of nature indoors. I have collected some tips about decorating with green which you can find below.

Plants If you're not a big fan of green but want to have the look of a green thumb, then why not use plants? They are a lively decoration to say the least, but they can also fill in any empty spaces easily.

Paint There is a wide variety of green paint colors to choose from. Although, what color do you choose? Do you like light or dark?

• Light Green
• Starting with lighter green, current trends offer a modern, welcoming aspect.
• Neon Green
• Neon is a retro color but can be gently applied if using neutral colors in black, grays, and whites.
• Mint Green
• This is a dainty shade of green for interior decorating but it's very comforting. It has a cottage feel to it and is perfect for any pastel lover.
• Emerald Green
• A bright color that is heavily nostalgic on walls. I've found many masculine looks or decorated rooms with clutter covering the emerald green wall color.
• Olive Green
• This shade looks preferably better with natural wooden furniture pieces. Brings a natural setting into a room which is not only calming but inviting at the same time.
• Muted Green
• This is a beautiful color to use. Its best look for a room is in minimalist style.

Accents

An accent is what completes the room! It's gives it the final touch and adds personality to the space.

• Light Green
• White and cream colored photos make the light green color evade softly with the rest of the room. For cushions or bedding, go for a muted shade of light green or on easier terms, a shade one or two darker than of the light green itself. Rugs can go from anything white or cream to a natural wicker wood for this room color.
• Neon Green
• Black and white furnishings look best as they are kept cleanly to this color choice. A streamlined and very modern touch can look exceptional for neon green when you use metals to frame pictures or for candle holders, to name a couple ideas. An accent color like royal blue also gives the room a pop.
• Mint Green
• Stripped wooden items look best for furniture pieces. For accent colors against your mint green choice, white, light pink, burgundy, and muted green look best of all.
• Emerald Green
• This bright color goes along with any neutral shade as well as any bright shade, too. If you want to define your accent colors though, light pink, navy blue, gold, and a medium gray are what's in with the current trends.
• Olive Green
• It's all about nature for accents to compliment olive green! Any natural wooden elements you add in with tables and shelves looks stunning. Olive green goes well with any plant lover, too. For the best complimentary color, a light turquoise, is the perfect combination.
• Muted Green
• Muted green is a simple color to design for. Minimal style exudes here! Cushions and or bedding that matches to furniture that's all in one shade, is the best bet for conquering the muted green elements.
