Plaid is a staple in the wardrobe for fall and winter months. With the festivities just around the corner however, wearing the pattern might not seem like a worthy option. I'm going to change your mind with this tip though! Below are some ways to dress up plaid because comfort and style don't need to be conflicting, but rather, comfortable!

Button Up We all know plaid button up shirts are the most common. For dressing this up, just pair with a skirt! It's a step up from denim pants and doesn't compromise comfort or style.

 

Button Up, Again

If skirts aren't your thing, then a pair of trousers must do! Match with a solid color that is on the button up top or go with a patterned trouser instead of simple jeans. Still as chic but gives it a twist for the events you might be attending to this holiday season.

Skirts

Can't go wrong with a nice plaid skirt! They are stylish and bring color to any outfit but if worn in a pleasing manner, they wont looked overly bogged down and school girl type. Pair accordingly with a nice blouse or sweater and viola, a charming look that will earn you compliments!

  

Trousers Plaid trousers are completely versatile! You can create a variety of looks from them and the options are seriously endless! For dressing up, just pair with a sweater and heels. If you want more comfort, opt for tennis shoes. Choose a solid color such as black or white and match with same color purse and accessories. This way, the sporty look is comforting but looks cohesive and flattering all the same.

 

Dress Everyone has a plaid dress stuffed somewhere back in their closest! Let's dig it out and put it to good use. Style by layering a long sleeved top under and pair with tights and either boots or heels.

 

Coat

Even a coat is as darling; it's an accessory that adds to a look more than just draping over. Wear the coat as if it's part of the entire outfit, like a cardigan per say.

Scarf Last but certainly not least, the famous plaid scarf! Just like the coat, it's more than an accessory. It's iconic when worn and brings life to any dull outfit. Wear when you need a pop added to your outfit last minute or even placed with a sweater that could use a quick pick up!
